  • Come to Camping Cantharel and spread your mycelial network to have fun, learn and connect!

  • This camping weekend is a 'burn': everyone contributes and helps co-create this festival.

  • 🍄 Location: Camping Quadenoord, Renkum.
  • 🍄 Terrain open: Friday 3 October 10:00.
  • 🍄 Terrain empty: Sunday 5 October 18:00.

Programme

This camping trip hosts about 18 workshops/talks and 4 mushroom walks. There's about 36 people actively contributing to the festival, from koji growers to mushroom guides. We are pretty psyched to have 'em all in one spot! Expect to meet your new best friends, mentors and apprentices.

Code of conduct

We aim this festival to be free of racism, sexism, ableism, classism, zionism and basically all forms of bigotry or violence. If you feel resistance to this phrase, this festival might not be for you. We aim for everyone, regardless, to feel welcomed sharing their knowledge, their questions, their experiences. Please feel empowered to call out any of the above if experienced yourself or seen happening, whether in person, or to our Wellbeing team (Chef Sarah + tbd). They offer a listening ear and will help come up with a plan. Anyone who transgresses this code of conduct is removed from the festival, without reimbursement.
In this field dominated by white men, we encourage them to leave space for others, and we applaud women, non-binary and queer folk, people of colour, to take up space and blossom. We welcome parents+kids and childfree folk alike.
Outsiders, and Camping Cantharel, try to divest from capitalism, imperialism and colonialism. For instance, we refrain from using AI, welcome real artists and thought, we hope you’ll share rides or come by train+bike, and we’ll separate waste at the festival and so on. We leave no trace, how can we leave this space better? We hope you’ll help us in this mission. Let’s uplift each other. We acknowledge we can do better in making everyone feel welcome at CC. Please (please!) feel free to share any improvement that we can make in this light. If you want to say anything anonymous, leave an envelope/note to Sarah in the kitchen.

Rode lijn

Our festival is at the same time as the next Rode Lijn demonstration. To support Gaza and to mobilize for change, we are still trying to organise a workshop/talk how to make the most impact. We love seeing your tokens of solidarity, but we love action a lot more.

Food & drinks

Meals

There will be some awesome chefs who will be arranging breakfast, lunch and dinner for a small fee to cover the groceries. To book a meal, please buy a festivalticket and get in the group chat. Then head to the FOOD chat group and react with an emoji in the group chat on the food moment you want to book a meal, so the chefs can see how many people want food. DM each of them if you have dietary restrictions. If you don’t want to join the food offered, you can of course bring your own food & drinks.

Coffee & tea

We will arrange kitchen gear and ingredients to make basic coffee & tea, but please help us host, by making coffee & tea whenever it’s finished. Also, bring fancy beans or nice herbal blends to share! Snacks and fruits are very welcome, please bring anything you want to share <3.

Bar

Byo! There will be a shared bar to exchange cool recipes, so bring your nice brews, cocktail ingredients, lemonades etc.

Location and house rules

Location: Het Paradijs

To reach Camping Cantharel, first go to Bosweg, Renkum. Then head towards these coordinates:

https://maps.app.goo.gl/RCHUGJKR9V5Fy81b6?g_st=iw

This area of camping Quadenoord is called Paradijs (Paradise). It has a giant tipi that we can use and 4 picknick tables. It’s close to the seasonal spots of the camp site, so at 23:00 we have to be ‘whisper quiet’. Warm showers are at walking distance. There are 2 toilets that we have to keep clean ourselves. We are with many people and few facilities, so please tidy up after yourself :)

Please park your camper/caravan on a sand spot, not on the grass. Let’s line campers up tightly. Tent? Grass is fine!

Fire

We can make fire, but have to bring our own dry wood. NO FORAGING FOR WOOD IN THE FOREST!

Mushrooms

In the Netherlands, it’s illegal to forage and pick mushrooms 😭. (But of course, we'll pick a few respectfully, to study.) DONT GO OFF PATH PLEASE. Please bear in mind we’re with many, so don’t load your basket before anyone else can explore the forest. When you spot something cool, show your fellow festivallers and share the delight of exploring.

Disclaimer

The information provided by Outsiders, and other contributors to the festival, is for general educational purposes only. Under no circumstance shall we have any liability to you for any loss or damage incurred as a result of visiting Camping Cantharel. Your attendance is solely at your own risk.

Parking

Muy importante: parking spots are very limited. Don’t cowboy camp somewhere random on the campsite, they are strict! We urge you to drive together, or take the train. It’s 20 mins cycling from the nearest train station.

There are 3 parking options:

  1. There is a tiny parking spot at walking distance from Paradijs, shared with other campsite guests. If it’s full, find another.
  2. At the beginning of camping Quadenoord, there is some parking space, again shared with other guests, near the toilet/shower building. Full? Please go elsewhere.
  3. Last option: park outside of the campsite, at fietsknooppunt 82, in the corner (might be muddy).

Please, do not park at: PHYSIOTHERAPIST/BEELDENTUIN/BARN/GREEN SHED/SWEATLODGE. Sorry :)

Let’s keep track of the parking situation during the festival in the group chat.
